Chocolate Cosmos

All because the lady loves… flowers!

There’s few better treats than chocolates and flower right?

Well, did you know there’s a heavenly combination of the two… Cosmos Atrosanguineus, more commonly known as Chocolate Cosmos… and it’s simply wonderful!

Chocolate Cosmos is such a beautiful little flower with the delicious unmistakeable scent of chocolate, and we think more people should include it in their big day! Available August to October, it makes a lovely addition to bridal bouquets or buttonholes, with its dark reddish brown flowers that have a soft velvety texture on long slender stems.

It’s not difficult to grow this Mexican perennial, it’s very versatile and suitable for patio planters, window-boxes and borders. They like to be in full sun in moist, well-drained soil so why not give it a go. Who wouldn’t want their garden to smell of chocolate for several months of the year!

In a bouquet this Autumn jewel works particularly well with pastel flowers such as English Garden Roses and creates a great talking point, although we can’t guarantee it won’t send you running out for a bar of the real thing…

(well, that’s our excuse and we’re sticking to it!)
