This one is totally from the team… I was busy enjoying myself in my second home of Cornwall so missed out on what sounds like a fantastic outing… so over to Shelly, Head Florist….
‘Before arriving at the Show we met up to indulge in a decadent, well deserved afternoon tea at Kensington Palace Orangery – the cakes were simply delicious!
The day was a really great opportunity to meet with one of our suppliers, The Real Flower Company at their Trade Stand who had THE most incredible flower wall that was jam packed full of garden roses – absolutely breath-taking.
We then spent plenty of time looking at the artisan gardens and were completely blown away by the flowers in the main pavilion – if there were such a thing, we were all in florist heaven! Every single flower, every single variety, from Delphiniums to Sweet Peas to David Austin Garden Roses… they were at their absolute best and had to be seen to be believed.
Moving on the main show gardens, a friend of ours – Charlotte Harris – was one of the main designers and her Royal Bank of Canada Garden was awarded gold. It’s really interesting to read the inspiration behind the garden which you’ll find at www.charlotteharris.com. A very talented lady, and very generous with her time, we spent a while chatting about the design and planning which was both fascinating and inspiring and we were very grateful for the insight.
And our wonderful day out came to an end… of sorts… we shall take what we learnt and make all our gardens look as fabulous as possible. Roll on next year’s Chelsea Flower Show!’
